Beyond The Pitch - Lesly Gaetjens

Phil and Anto are joined by Lesly Gaetjens, the son of US Soccer legend Joe Gaetjens, to share in the celebration of his achievement at the 1950 World Cup and the prestigious NSCAA Honorary All-America award given to the family on January 15th at its annual gathering. Lesly and his family give us a glimpse into that long overdue and wonderful day when the full story finally received the recognition and what it may mean as the US builds its new legacy on the World Game. This is the third appearance for Lesly on the show - who was featured on the tremendous piece by ESPN just before the 2010 World Cup - and this serves as an enduring chapter to the struggle of Joe Gaetjens receiving an honor fitting his achievement on that magical day in Brazil.
